Теодо́р Джон Кази́нски — американский математик, социальный критик, террорист, анархист и неолуддит, известный своей кампанией по рассылке бомб по почте.

Уже в раннем возрасте выделялся среди других детей, так как был вундеркиндом. Был зачислен в Гарвардский университет в 16 лет, получил степень бакалавра и позднее получил степень доктора по математике в Мичиганском университете. Стал старшим преподавателем в Калифорнийском университете в Беркли в 25 лет, но уволился двумя годами позже.

В 1971 году ушёл жить в хижину без электричества и водопровода в Линкольне . Там он начал осваивать навыки выживания, чтобы стать самодостаточным. Казински решился на массовую рассылку бомб после того, как увидел, что возле его дома начали строительство дороги. С 1978 по 1995 год Казински отправил по почте 16 бомб, целями были университеты и авиалинии. В результате взрывов посылок погибло 3 человека и 23 было ранено. 24 апреля 1995 года Казински отправил письмо в «Нью Йорк Таймс» и пообещал «воздержаться от терроризма», если «Нью-Йорк Таймс» или «Вашингтон Пост» опубликует его манифест. В своей работе «Индустриальное общество и его будущее» он объяснял, что его бомбы были крайней мерой, но всё-таки необходимой для того, чтобы привлечь внимание к процессу уменьшения человеческой свободы в обществе из-за современных технологий, требующих крупномасштабной организации.

Унабомбер был одной из самых дорогостоящих целей ФБР. До того как личность Казинского была установлена, ФБР использовала кличку Унабом . Позднее благодаря прессе он стал известен как Унабомбер . Бюро способствовало публикации «Манифеста» Казинского, в результате чего брат Казинского опознал его стиль письма и проинформировал ФБР о личности преступника. Казински не считал и не признавал себя невменяемым и безуспешно пытался сменить адвокатов, так как не хотел, чтобы его признали таковым во избежание смертной казни. Когда стало ясно, что попытки признать его невменяемым безуспешны, суд принял соглашение о признании вины, в соответствии с которым Теодор признал себя виновным и был приговорен к пожизненному заключению без возможности условно-досрочного освобождения.
