Йовери Кагута Мусе́вени — угандийский политический и государственный деятель, президент Уганды с 1986 года.

В 1967 году стал студентом в Танзании, где проникся марксистскими идеями. Отправился добровольцем в Мозамбик. В 1970 году поступил в угандийскую военную разведку, однако в 1971 году, после переворота Иди Амина бежал в Танзанию. В 1979—1980 гг. — министр обороны в правительстве Мильтона Оботе. В 1980—1985 гг. — лидер повстанческой Армии национального сопротивления. Сторонники считают его «африканским политиком новой волны», а противники — архитектором средневековой империи тутси, за вмешательства во внутренние дела Руанды и ДР Конго с целью поддержки своих соплеменников.
